With over 40+ years combined experience serving the community, Sunflower Care Victoria places the client in the centre of our services. We are dedicated to building strong bonds between our clients, their families, their community and service networks.

We employ a person-centred care approach to provide choice, respect and negotiation in order to achieve a holistic care outcome for each individual client.

Drawing from a broad range of expertise, we provide tailored support, specialising in disability care such as Autism, Dementia, Post Trauma Support, Psycho-social Assessment and Crisis Intervention.

We also provide Carer support such as Carer Stress Counselling, Mental Health Support and Parenting Education and Coaching.

We are inclusive of all people. Our team members can communicate with our clients in Mandarin, Cantonese and Hakka, if required.

  • Margaret Yung

    SUPPORT COORDINATOR | SOCIAL WORKER | PARENTING EDUCATOR

    A social worker for over 20 years, Margaret brings her strength-based and solution-focused expertise to helping individuals engage fully in life and build independence.

    Margaret delivers clinical counselling and parental support advice to clients in Mandarin and Cantonese, shaping her dedication to strengthening holistic wellbeing of her clients and their families.

    With a deep understanding of complex health needs, she specialises in implementing solutions for seniors, children and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals. Leveraging her broad community support network, she is able to tailor resources and services to help individuals achieve goals smoothly.

    She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work and is a current member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

  • Yen Kim

    SUPPORT COORDINATOR | SOCIAL WORKER | BILINGUAL HEALTH EDUCATOR

    Yen’s background in nursing, social work and aged-care has shaped her person-centred care approach to empowering individuals.

    She specialises in working with individuals with developmental, physical or mental conditions living in community or care settings. Understanding the complexities of their environment and circumstances, she addresses all aspects of their lives to build their confidence and and achieve their goals. In particular, she strongly advocates for individuals who have experienced abuse in these settings.

    Yen has also completed a Master of Applied Gerontology from Flinders University, and supports clients with early onset dementia to build their confidence and strength.

    With fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese and Hakka, Yen seamlessly liaises with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals, ensuring their needs are heard.

  • Winnie Lau

    REGISTERED NURSE (PRACTICE, IMMUNISATION, CONTINENCE)

    Winnie is passionate about delivering the best quality of care for individuals and their families, having worked in diverse healthcare settings as a Registered Nurse.

    Winnie’s nursing experience spans Aged Care, Community and Disability Support Services and Primary Health Care. She provides in-home continence care and immunisation nursing support. Understanding the evolving needs of health conditions, she constructs independent living solutions in community settings with access to appropriate health supports.

    Individuals and families are empowered through Winnie’s education approach, she believes keeping them informed helps them to make better decisions and fully in control through changes in their lives.

    Winnie also bridges communication between individuals and medical and allied health professionals, translating complex health concepts into easy to understand language, including into Cantonese or Mandarin.
